Cathrine Wiernik is new Head of Format Acquisitions at TV4 Group. In her new role she will be responsible for dealings with international format distributors and production companies around the world, and will be focusing on finding and adapting new major international formats for the TV4 Group. Her analyses and insights will form the basis for TV4's future commissioning of TV productions based on international formats.

"As international formats have an ever-growing impact on TV scheduling, it is also essential to be more pro-active in the international format market. Competition is intense; everyone is pulling at the same ideas, and we want to be a major player in the arena. Expert knowledge of formats will ensure that we become a smarter, more spot-on, commissioner, thereby creating the potential for programmes to become ratings successes," Cathrine Wiernik explains.

Cathrine will continue to report to TV4's Head of Commissioning, Fredrik Arefalk.

Cathrine has accumulated a fantastic international network of contacts over many years, and we are delighted that she will be able to devote all her time to the international market in her new role," says Fredrik Arefalk.
